The page presents publications from the period immediately after retirement. True, until August 2022 I continued to work (from March to August – online), and only sad events for Ukraine did not allow me to extend my contract. But the period was not unsuccessful for science.

Shatrovskiy, A. New data on the rare Far-East species of the water scavenger beetles of the genus Cercyon Leach, 1817 (Coleoptera: Hydrophilidae: Sphaeridiinae). The Kharkov Entomol. Soc. Gaz. 2021. Vol. XXIX, iss. 2. P. 5-9. DOI: 10.36016/KhESG-2021-29-2-1 (In Russian)
New data on the distribution of three rare species of the genus Cercyon described from the Far East are presented: C. sundukovi Ryndevich, Hoshina, Prokin, 2019, C. verus Shatrovskiy, 1989, and C. retius Ryndevich et Prokin, 2017. C. sundukovi was first recorded for the island Sakhalin, C. retius — for Sakhalin island and Khabarovsk region. Areal maps for the three considered species are given. For C. sundukovi and C. retius, microphotographs of male genitalia are shown.
The work is devoted to Alexander Sumarokov, who celebrated his 70-years anniversary in 2021, and is based on his material collected from Sakhalin Island in 1989. Why didn’t they get me sooner?! One of the species, well represented in this material, was described by my colleagues only in 2019 on a small series with a single male, having genitalia of slightly broken form. I could only add new points to its area and place the pictures of a better form. Other species were known to me by any female from O. N. Kabakov’s collections in the Khabarovsk Territory. I suspected that the species was new, but it was described not by me. And how would I like to name the view in honour of Sasha Sumarokov!
Markina, T. Yu., Meshkova, V. L., Shatrovskiy, A. G., Vovk, D. V. (2021) In memoriam Alexander Putchkov (05.09.1954–30.04.2021). The Kharkov Entomological Society Gazette. Vol. XXIX, iss. 2. P. 50–56. DOI: 10.36016/KhESG-2021-29-2-5 (In Ukrainian).
The main points of the biography of the famous Ukrainian entomologist Alexander Putchkov are presented. The results of his scientific, social and organizational work are summed up. The list of the 142 main scientific publications of A. Putchkov are attached.

Shatrovskiy, A. New data on the little-known species of the water scavenger beetle Helophorus pitcheri Angus, 1970 (Coleoptera: Hydrophiloidea: Helophoridae). The Kharkov Entomol. Soc. Gaz. 2020. Vol. XXVIII, iss. 1. P. 12–16. DOI: 10.36016/KhESG-2020-28-1-2.
New data on the distribution, ecology, and phenology of Helophorus pitcheri Angus, 1970, previously known from three type specimens from Southern Siberia and a single find from China, are presented. The species is recorded for the first time from the Far East, from the Amur Region and the Khabarovsk Area. Biotopes are indicated, and a list of Hydrophiloidea which with H. pitcheri was found is given. Presumably, the species is an acidophilic stagnophile. Adults were found in June and August.
One of the publications on the base of interesting findings from the materials of A. Ryvkin.
Shatrovskiy, A. G. Hydrophiloid beetles of the genus Helophorus F. (Coleoptera: Hydrophiloidea) in the fauna of Ukraine. Ukrainian Entomofaunistics. 2020. V. 11, No. 1. P. 90–92. “Problems of modern entomology”. II Conference. Svityaz, August 25-30, 2020. Materials of reports. (In Ukrainian)
Some results of processing the Helophorus collection material are presented. Figures give without a complete list: 31 species from 5 subgenera and data for faunistic analysis.
Abstracts of the report at the conference, which could not attend. Due to the pandemic, no one from Kharkiv went to Svityaz at all. In the photo of the participants – 16-17 people. It is a pity that such an opportunity for communication had disappeared.

Markina, T. Yu., Shatrovskiy, A. G., Vovk, D. V. In memoriam Alexander Zinovievich Zlotin (08.28.1937–29.06.2016). The Kharkov Entomol. Soc. Gaz. 2019. Vol. XXVII, iss. 2. P. 34–52. (In Russian)
The article summarizes the results of the scientific, social and organizational work of the famous Ukrainian entomologist Alexander Zinovievich Zlotin. Lists of scientific and scientific and educational publications are attached to the article.
Alexander Zlotin did a lot for the formation and subsequent support of the Kharkiv Entomological Society. We had to dedicate an article to his memory and provide a complete bibliography of scientific and popular science works. The bibliographic list was taken as a basis, created in the G. S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University (cited in the article) with the participation of the first author Tatyana Markina, a follower of professor. The formation of the text was entrusted to me – on the basis of the same source. When I wrote, fanfare was constantly blowing in my head, and therefore the text turned out to be pompous. And after this Dmitry Vovk found numerous mistakes in the bibliographic list, and corrected them for a long time. Unfortunately, there was a mistake in the translation of the name in the Ukrainian resume (see the Ukrainian language page).

Shatrovskiy, A. G. First record of Helophorus villosus Düftschmid, 1805 (Coleoptera: Hydrophyloidea: Helophoridae) in Ukraine. The Kharkov Entomol. Soc. Gaz. 2018. Vol. XXVI, iss. 2. P. 5–7.
Helophorus villosus Düftschmid, 1805, known formerly from Central Europe, has been recorded for the first time from Ukraine (Odessa Region). A description of the species and data on its ecology and geographic distribution is given. H. villosus proposes to be included in the Red Book of Ukraine.
The time spent on the search was fully justified. While in Odessa, I looked through the collections of Marisha Grandova, and in them I found several beetles, still unknown from Ukraine. I hope this is not the last interesting record from the outskirts of Odessa. Concerning the Red Book, my Kiev colleagues did not support my initiative. But I still think it is expedient.
In this article, the author’s initials were incorrectly spelled, and there was a surprise for me.

Shatrovskiy, A. (2017) New data on the distribution of Palearctic water scavenger beetles species from the nominative subgenus of the genus Berosus Leach, 1817 (Coleoptera: Hydrophilidae)”. Kharkov Entomological Society Gazette. V. XXV, iss. 2. P. 8–13. (In Russian)
Data have been generalized and supplemented with distribution of 6 species of the nominate subgenus of the genus Berosus Leach, 1817 in the north and middle belt of the Eastern Palearctic: B. (B.) signaticollis (Charpentier, 1825), B. (B.) geminus Reiche et Saulcy, 1856, B. (B.) byzantinus Ganglbauer, 1904, B. (B.) dispar Reiche et Saulcy, 1856, B. (B.) punctipennis Harold, 1878, B. (B.) luridus (Linnaeus, 1761). New locations for B. luridus (in the Astrakhan region and in Kazakhstan) and B. geminus (in the Odessa region and in Western Siberia) are listed. A table for determination is proposed, which, along with the listed ones, also includes 3 species from the adjacent territories: B. (B.) affinis Brullé, 1835, B. (B.) hispanicus Küster, 1847 and B. (B.) japonicus Sharp, 1873.
It all started with the fact that in the collections of A. Ryvkin from Western Siberia, a series of B. geminus was found – at a significant distance from the known range. Then I decided not to limit content by information about one species, but include all the described species of the nominative subgenus in the Palearctic and give a key to them.
Shatrovskiy, A. (2017) A new species of Cycreon d’Orchymont, 1919 from Singapore (Coleoptera: Hydrophilidae: Megasternini). Zootaxa. V. 4317 (3). P. 588–592.
Examination of the holotype of C. sculpturatus revealed the Singapore specimen does indeed represent a new species. It was additionally labeled by d’Orchymont, that this is it not the male of C. sculpturatus, and may be new species, but it has never been described. In this article new species is described as C. armandi sp. n. Redescriptions of the genus Cycreon and C. sculpturatus are given.
This publication is associated with many technical problems. I wrote out a type for the work on the Far Eastern determinant. But the alleged specimens turned out to be from a different genus. However, the type remained at me for a long time. Then it was in demand by my colleagues, and this spurred me to write this article.
Shatrovskiy, A., Hebesh, S. (2017) Population aspects of the introduction of hydrobionts-inviders. Problems of Zooengineering and Veterinary Medicine. Iss. 33, pt. 1, Agrarian Sciences. P. 210–216.
Various ways of introduction of invasive hydrobionts have been analyzed. Both deliberate and unintentional ways with examples of their introduction are considered. It is shown that deliberate introduction can occur both planned and spontaneous. Some successful cases of deliberate introduction of hydrobionts, which contributed to the increase in the fodder base of fish, and not entailed negative consequences for ecosystems as a whole, are given. Unintentional introductions are on the rise due to the escape, stowaway, or with ballast water discharges. Unintentionally, foreign aquatic organisms enter together with deliberately relocated introducents, with fish-planting material and with ballast or other waters discharged from arriving ships.
A review article devoted the research of our postgraduate student. However, the work did not develop in the intended direction, and in later it got out of my control.
